Created as multiplayer demo to show off the power of Improbable's SpatialOS. Taking a heavy artistic influence from the Dark Souls series, Abyssals is set in a dark fantasy universe in which players must work together to spread light and hold back the flood of Darkness threatening the world. Originally designed to be created by a three person team over the course of six weeks, the demo was eventually completed in just under two weeks with the help of three additional team members.
This is the sword used by the player characters. It was originally intended to by a short sword, but an error in scaling when exporting it out of Max into Maya for the animator meant it turned into a Great Sword! We decided it looked very cool like that, so decided to keep it that way.
