Created as multiplayer demo to show off the power of Improbable's SpatialOS. Abyssals allows three different types of game client to connect to the same world simultaneously whle supporting up to a thousand players. Taking a heavy artistic influence from the Dark Souls series, Abyssals is set in a dark fantasy universe in which players must work together to spread light and hold back the flood of Darkness threatening the world. Originally designed to be created by a three person team over the course of six weeks, the demo was eventually completed in just under two weeks with the help of three additional team members.
This was the main enemy in the demo, and was concepted and sculpted during my commutes into and from the office on my Surface.
